In 1600, in a small mountain village in Iga Province, lived a beautiful and determined girl named Mariko. Her father, known as Tengu, was a prominent ninja warrior who trained her from a young age. Mariko's skills soon rivalled those of the clan's top warriors. When an enemy clan attacked their village, Mariko's father was gravely wounded, leaving the village defenceless. Mariko took up her father's sword and using her ninja training, launched a series of stealthy ambushes against the invaders. Her swift and silent attacks struck fear into the hearts of the enemies, who began to believe a supernatural force protected the village.
